Invensys Rail invited Areteworks to develop and design a first-class user interface and web application for their scalable, modular signaling system. Areteworks was given the task of generating simplified yet appealing user interfaces to be used at relay locations as well as desktops.

solution

With a product that would accommodate a wide variety of functions through its scalable architecture, Areteworks developed an intuitive UI navigation and graphical elements for Invensys that were easily accessible and made for a rapid learning process for the user. Our designers developed color schemes that were not only eye appealing but also easily visible in different lighting conditions, and generated simple, instantly recognizable icons that conveyed common actions and tasks. The results were easy to grasp user interfaces for both Invensys’ in-field devices and desktop applications, allowing for a large range of scalability and functionality and helping to turn the iVIU signaling system into an integral part of railroad operations and maintenance.
