“Successful UI Design has a foundation built from research, not from opinion.”
Research is the difference between using a metallic light blue that appeals to a younger demographic, and using a light blue that is a client’s favorite color. It’s understanding why the “Done” button should be placed in a specific location. It’s presenting the logic behind using icons for certain functions, and text labels for others. It’s having the confidence to convey to clients what end users are wanting from their product before the product has been completed. Research is the strong foundation that must be in place for any successful User Interface to remain functional and intact.
